Bonuses as Motivators:To What Degree are They Effective?

Bonuses are perceived to positively contribute to a companys performance through motivation of employees. This belief is challenged when the said company fails to provide rewards due to unpredicted circumstances, given that a set formula for disseminating remuneration has been formulated and understood. In both scenarios the employers and employees are affected on separate scales, their respective reactions bouncing back toward each other. This essay explores such impacts, along with an analysis of the effect of no imposition of bonus schemes at all.
