Traditional Chinese “Warm-Plague Prediction by Back Propagation Neural Network
The recent spates of SARS,H1N1 avian influenza and the H7N9 flu epidemic have had a huge impact on our country and the world.The spread of this type of potent respiratory epidemic,which are ferocious,contagious,and bear high mortality,shows the characteristics of “warm-plague defined by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).For the cause of the plague and the law of its development,“Inner Canon,together with other representative works in TCM,bears a profound and macroscopic understanding,typically known as “5Y6Q-Theory(TCM theory about the movements of the 6 kinds of natural forces powered by the 5 basic elements of the cosmos).Practice shows that the use of “5Y6Q cannot be mechanically applied,but comprehensive multi-factor dynamic analysis based on the combination of the specific prevailing local climate changes is needed to obtain accurate predictions.BP neural network,with its good approximation capability of nonlinear dynamics system,has a unique applicability in the prediction of major outbreaks of natural disasters using “5Y6Q knowledge.Matlab simulation results show that BP neural network modeling,can effectively improve the limitations of TCM prediction by providing more scientific and practical results.
