To Support Human-Human Interaction in Collaborative Feature-based CAD Systems
The collaborative CAD systems do not only require the smooth human-computer interaction but also the convenient human-human interaction experience.Based on replicated architecture and exchanging of the advanced modeling commands, this paper discussed several key issues for a collaborative CAD system. The first issue is to track the changing history of topological entities of a part model.Algorithms for tracking topological entity changes when it is merged, split and deleted are presented and a tree-like structure TES_Tree is adopted to record the tracking results. The second issue is the consistency maintainence mechanism.Based on the different topological entity reference intentions, specific consistency maintenance methods for different topological entity variation situations are proposed. The last discussed issue is the group Un-do/Redo policy for error recovery which is important to eliminate errors propagated to every collaborative site during the human-human interaction.
