Virtual network embedding model minimizing energy consumption
The cost of consumed energy of network operators becomes one of main burdens and network virtualization is considered as an effective strategy where virtual network embedding is the core. Therefore,a virtual network embedding model minimizing energy consumption(VNEME)is proposed which considers energy consumption as embedding constraints.VNEME selects nodes and links whose loads stresses are between two thresholds so that the nodes and links under certain thresholds can be migrated to others and can be switched off or hibernated.Simulation experiments demonstrate that energy consumption can be reduced based on the proposed VNEME when a large number of VNs requests arrived but the acceptance ratio is little influenced.
