Study on the Relation between Defense Expenditures and Economics Growth in China--Based on the Validation of VAR Model

　　The relation between defense expenditures and economic growth is studied based on eeonometrical methods.Co-Integration test and granger causality tests are used to analysis whether defense expenditures has effect on economic growth as well as the direction of causality between them.The vector auto-regression model and the vector error correct model are built to investigate short term dynamics and long term equilibrium relation.Using the time series data from 1978 to 2012 in China, the empirical results reveal that there is one and only one co-integration relation between defense expenditures and GDP, and GDP is the Granger causality of defense expenditures, but not vice versa.
