Preparation and Properties of Silicon-Zinc-Glycerol Hydrogels

  A number of silicon-zinc-glycerol hydrogeis resistant to syneresis was synthesized according to the sol-gel methodology.The optimum composition of silicon-zinc-glycerol hydrogel for preclinical trials was determined.It has been established that this gel is non toxic.The wound-healing and antimicrobial properties of the hydrogei were studied.The experimental results showed that the studied silicon-zinc-glycerol hydrogel can be recommended for the application as local and ex ternal pharmaceutical formulations and as the substrate for the pharmaceutical compositions with wound-heal ing, regenerative and antimicrobial activity.
