Superhydrophobicity:Materials Science and Technological Aspects
The lecture discusses the phenomenon of superhydrophobicity and gives examples of its mani festation in nature.Principles of artifitial superhydro phobic materials creation are discussed both in terms of materials selection and development of processing meth ods which allow to achieve superhydrophobicity.Possi ble engineering applications and operational use of high ly hydrophobic components and materials are de scribed.A major focus is on fluoropolymers as the most prospective hydrophobic materials, and relevant meth ods for fluoropolymers processing developed by authors are discussed.
