Investigation of the Technically Pure Titanium Structure during Accumulation and Release of Hydrogen by Means of Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy
Results of experimental study of techni cally pure titanium alloy structure by means positron li fetime spectrometry at hydrogen accumulation and thermodesorption have shown in this work. The aver age lifetime of positrons in the material increases with hydrogen penetration and hydride formation. The posi trons anniluli ate in the localized state and the prevailing type of defect is vacancy dusters.Hydride dissociation and hydrogen redistribution and release at technically pure titanium alloy take place during high-temperature vacuum annealing (600-675 ℃).The hydrogen atoms in the samples are localized in vacancy-type volume de fects. As the temperature increases to the value of 750 ℃ the diffusion and desorption of hydrogen, accompa nied by the annihilation of structural defects were ob served.Vacuum annealing at the temperature of 900 ℃ leads to the complete removal of hydrogen; recovery of the structure of titanium alloy to its original state was observed.
