Energy-saving Technology for Aluminum Electrolysis Using Novel Structure Anodes and Cathodes
For aluminum electrolysis, the pow er consumption can be decreased by lower cell volt age and higher CE.Based on the discussion of cau ses for wave of molten bath/metal pad in aluminum reduction cells, research and application of energy saving technology are given.Novel structure cath odes can lower cell voltage, the result is the wave of molten bath/metal pad is lower, the energy con sumption is lower.Using anodes with holes and slots, the discharge distance of anode gas from mol ten bath can be reduced.For anode gas, the period of staying in the bath can be shortened, and the pen etrated depth in the bath can be decreased.So the current efficiency of cell can be increased and cell voltage can be decreased.
