Sulfonated Zirconia/Nafion Composite Membrane for High Concentration Low temperature direct methanol fuel cell
Combination of inorganic and organic materials has been an interesting topic, be cause it can hold the advantages from both compo nents.In this article, 0 %, 3 % and 6 % sulfonated zirconia (SZ) / Nation composite membranes were synthesized by recasting solution method.The mor phology and structure of the composite membrane were characterized by XRD, SEM&EDX, TGA and so on.Furthermore, it was also used as proton ex change membrane for direct methanol fuel cell (DM FC) with high fuel concentration (5M, 10M) and low working temperature (30℃, 45℃).The results suggested that SZ/Nafion composite membrane ex hibited better performances than pure Nation during the operation of DMFC.
