Research on Braze Ability of Aluminum-silicon Filler Paste

  Tlis paper briefly introduced proces ses of production of aluminum-silicon filler metal powder paste; researched the aluminum braze abili ty using the powder, by means of the theory of sur face tension and capillarity, discussed affect of the powder sizes and oxygen content on the brazing process and property.Result shows: brazing alumi num plates with particle size between 38-400 mi cron, can get higher sheer strength.The sheer strength brazed by fine powder (< 28 micron) is low, oxygen content of the aluminum-base filler metal powder increase as decreasing the powder size, brazing of the filler metal powder with less than 6%wt fine powder (<28 micron)can get sprea ding area as nearly large as brazed with the filler metal powder without the fine powder.
