Titanium-Niobium Alloy and Biological Coating of Medical Implant Materials
It is important to reduce the modu lus of elasticity, but also maintain high strength in study biomedical titanium niobium alloys. The goal is to look for the best balance between elastic modu lus, strength and corrosion resistance, in order to meet the requirements of human body implant mate rials. The bio-composite material, which is Ti Nb alloy base with Hydroxyapatite (HAP) coating, needs to have good comprehensive performance of implant, excellent mechanical properties, and good biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. The micro -arc oxidation process is a kind of practical hydroxyapatite coating method. The combination of ultrasonic and micro-arc oxidation will speed up and control of chemical reaction, increase the reac tion rate and improve overall performance of hydroxyapatite layer. From a development perspec.five, in order to improve the brittleness of hydroxyapatite, it is typical to prepare HAP biologi cal composite with other materials.
