Properties of Fe-based Amorphous Alloy Coatings with Al2O3-13 % TiO2 Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An amorphous alloy composite coat ings containing Fe71CrSB4Si4Ni3Mo3W10 (wt.%) and different mass fractions of Al2O3-13 %TiO2 ce ramic particles were successfully deposited onto plain carbon steel by atmospheric plasma spraying. The microstructure, micro-hardness and corrosion re sistance properties of the coatings were investigated. The Fe, Ti, W, Al and O dements were found to have mutual diffusion between the interface of ce ramic particles and Fe-based amorphous matrix. The micro-area metallurgical combination could reduce the porosity generated by the addition of the second phase and could enhance the bonding strength between the two phases.Micro-hardness of the composite coating was found to be promoted by 20% when the mass fraction of A12O3-13%TiO2 was more than 16 wt.%.Corrosion resistance abili.ty of the composite coatings was better than that of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel in 10 wt.% NaOH solu tion.
