Effects of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Spray Formed High Vanadium High-Speed Steel

  Effects of heat treatment on micro structure and mechanical properties of spray formed (SF) high vanadium high-speed steel (HHS) were studied.Experimental results show that microstructure of the deposited state was homo geneous, had no segregation, and the carbides dispersed.After hot isostatic pressing(HIP), the see ondary carbides precipitated along the grain bound ary gradually, and the size of the primary carbides increases.Through heat treatment, the microstruc ture was composed of tempered-martensite and small amount residual austenite, and the globular carbides with MC style (it was VC mainly)distribu ted in the matrix uniformly.Hardness (HRC) in creased with increasing quenching temperature.When the quenching temperature is 1160 ℃, the quenching hardness reached 63.5HRC.Impact re sistance of HIP state was better than that of deposi ted state, and reached 2.63J, especially.
