Influence of C Addition on the Properties of Tungsten Disulfide Films
Transition metal dichalcogeneides WS2 has been used as solid lubricant in various in dustrial fields due to its excellent lubricating proper ties in dry atmosphere or vacuum. However, in the humid air conditions, the tribological properties of WS2 is deteriorated and it limits its wide applications in many areas. In order to improve the tribological properties of WS2 films in humid air conditions, C addition in the W-S films has been explored.A comparison of the properties of pure W-S film and W-S-C composite film prepared by magnetron sputtering method has been carried out.The results show that compared to the pure W-S film, the W -S-C composite film presents higher wear lifetime and lower friction coefficient, although there is no improvement on the adhesion property.
