Preparation of Nb3 Al Powder by Chemical Reaction in Molten Salts

  Nb3Al intermetallic nanopartides were directly synthesized via chemical reaction process using (mNbCl5-nAlCl3) as the raw materi als and sodium as the reducing reagent in the molten salts.The effects of on the different feeding materi als orders, soaking time, Nb percent within raw ma terials and weight (3molNbCl5-lmolAlCl3) percent in the molten salts on the characterization of the ob tained Nb3Al powder were discussed.The as-pre pared samples were characterized by X-ray diffrac tion, scanning dectron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.It was found that the only phase Nb3Al nanopartides were obtained via con trollable variation of the feeding materials orders, soaking time and Nb percent within raw materials.And the morphology of as-prepared nanoparticles would change because of the different weight (3molNbCl5-lmoiAlCl3) percent in the molten salts.
