Spark Plasma Sintering of Tungsten Carbide Nanopowders with High Mechanical Properties
The consolidation of pure tungsten carbide nanopowders by spark plasma sintering (SPS) method was carried out.The effect of the ini fiai grain size of tungsten carbide and the conditions of their consolidation on the density, parameters structure and mechanical properties was investiga ted.The bulk samples of nanostructure tungsten carbide with high density had hardness and fracture toughness values of 31 GPa and 5.2 MPa(ml/2 re spectively.
