Effect of Electron Irradiation on Solid-liquid-phase Interaction of Metallic Systems of Immiscible Components

Interaction of steel with liquid lead and interaction of aluminum with liquid indium un der irradiation by 2, 2 MeV high-energy electrons were experimentally studied. It was found, that af ter electron irradiation under 600℃ unlike after thermal annealing, the composition of lead contains certain impurities of elements from the steel compo sition.Irradiation of aluminum-Indium system un der 200℃ shows that aluminum surface corroded af ter contact with liquid indium under electron beam effect, with caverns forming on Al surface.Under certain conditions, the steel wall as well as the Al wall were burned.
