　　The essay elaborates the development histories of Cuju in the ancient times and modem football with the methods of documentary and logical analysis and compare the different fates of Cuju and modem football in the historical evolution to reveal the differences between the traditional sports and the modem sports.The modem development strategies of the traditional national sports shocked by the modem western sports during the current period of social transition.
