Study on the Characteristics of Rail Corrugation of Beijing Metro Based on In-situ Dynamic Tests
Many abnormal rail corrugations appeared in Beijing Metro.In order to study the charac teristics of rail corrugation and find the reason why the abnormal rail corrugation occurs, some in-si tu dynamic tests such as Acceleration test and modal test are carried out.Results show that the main reason why the rail corrugation occurred for the shear fasteners is wheel-rail resonance at a round 300 Hz.This corresponds with the in-situ investigations which show that abnormal rail corru gations happened in sections of 60-70 km/h.Modal test results show that the damping ratio of shearing vibration-reduction fasteners is low in the frequency range 200-350 Hz.So the resonance energy induced by the rail-track system cannot be reduced during the propagation.With the excita tion of metro train loads the rail tends to get away from the constraints of the fasteners system for the free vibration.In the procedure of controlling corrugation and design metro lines, the resonance fre quency of all kind of track systems must be considered.
