Numerical Analysis on Reasonable Design of Physical Model of High Speed Railway

The main objective of this paper is to assess the reasonable size for a physical model to investigate railway structure performance under train moving loads.First, a full-scale high-speed railway model test scheme is proposed. Then, finite element models (FEM) with the same section geometry with the physical model are proposed. Finally, the results between the physical model and FEM through static and dynamic tests to analyze the characteristic of roadbed are compared. The data measured during the tests are vertical acceleration and displacement of track slab, concrete base and surface layer, the internal dynamics of soil pressure. The results show that: I.The influ ence area of one axle load is 4.41m, so the smallest length of physical model is 4.5 m under the static load.2.The acceleration, displacement and internal soil pressure are gradually tend to steady when the length is greater than 20 m under the fixed harmonic load, the results of 5m length could meet the experiment requirement.
