Influence of Traffic-load Induced Principal Stress Rotation on the Accumulative Deformation and Pore Pressure of Soft Clay

  To investigate the effect of traffic-load induced principal stress rotation on the dynamic behaviors of soft clay, through hollow cylinder apparatus (HCA), the actual stress path with prin cipal stress rotation experienced by subsoil under traffic loading was simulated in laboratory, and the accumulative deformation and pore pressure of soft clay under different combinations of axial de viator stress and torsional shear stress were investigated.This study provides a reference for a more realistic evaluation on the behaviors of soft clay under traffic loading.
