Monitoring Data Analysis and Discussion on Downstream Atomiztion of Flood Discharge of the Pubugou Dam on the Dadu River
By now the Pubugou Dam is the highest core rock-fill dam which is built on deep overburden layer in the world.The flood discharge structures of the dam are arranged on the left bank.And the Chengdu-Kunming railway line and a train station are located on the right bank around 2 km downstream the dam.By the end of 2009, the construction of Pubugou Dam was completely finished.From Jul.2010 to Aug.2012, the running time of flood discharge tunnel summed to over 2 000 h, and the maximum flow of flood discharge reached 3 400 m3/s.According to the field measurement, the actual maximum atomization-precipitation of railway central part is below 6 mm/h, which indicates a significant difference compared with the previous calculation.The operation of Pubugou Dam and its flood discharge tunnel shows that: ①Due to the limit of boundary conditions, the theoretical value of atomization-precipitation can be only considered as a reference.②To improve the accuracy of design, the actual measurement value of atomization-precipitation in the affected zone should be adopted in the protection design.③It should be suggested to start the protective construction of atomization area downstream the dam after one flood season of test run of the flood discharge structures.
