Treatment Design of Deep Overburden of Concrete Faced Rock-fill Dam Foundation and Evaluation of Its Validity

  Concrete faced Rock-fill dam (CFRD) seated on deep overburden can reduce excavation quantity and be beneficial to reducing project costs and shortening construction period.Whether dam foundation riverbed is excavated or not depends on the engineering geological behaviors and deformation magnitude.Adopting strong compaction treatment with high energy grade is convenient for construction and effective for improving overburden bearing capacity, and can reduce dam body deformation in the late stage and guarantee the safety of dam operation.
