Study on Characteristics of Moraine Conglomerate in Building Jiangpinghe CFRD
Jiangpinghe Hydropower Station, the 219 m-high CFRD ,is located at a V-shaped narrow valley with a width-height ratio of 1 ∶ 1.8.The construction material is of moraine conglomerate, which is compact and hard and has an average saturated compressive strength over 60 MPa.There is no engineering experience for reference in building dam with moraine conglomerate in China and other countries.The physico-mechanical properties of moraine conglomerate and deformation modulus of rockfill are acquired through laboratory and field test and field blasting and compaction test.Blasting parameters with good gradation, filling and compacting characteristics are obtained for dam construction.This practice has offered technical support for the design of.Jiangpinghe Dam.
