Preliminary Study on the Piezometer Installation in Miaowei Geomembrane-core Rockfill Cofferdam
Several cofferdam quality or safety accidents brought economic loss and caused negative influence.So cofferdam seepage design and monitoring have been brought to the forefront.Piezometer installation in cofferdam is always interfered by rapid construction such as leak prevention construction and cofferdam filling after closure.It is difficult to drill in the rockfill materials which maybe influence cofferdam schedule.Papers summarizes the construction experience about borehole and protection for piezometers in rockfill on the basis of the piezometers installation in the Miaowei geomembrane-core rockfill cofferdam.It analyses the monitoring data in the first flood season after closure and gives a preliminary evaluation on the cofferdam.Papers provides guidance for similar cofferdam construction and offers reference for instrument installation in rockfill dam.
