Some Relevant Aspects of Geotechnical Design for La Yesca Dam:Description of its Behavior During the Construction Stage and First Filling After One Year of Built
This paper presents the geotechnical design of La Yesca concrete face rockfill dam (CFRD) ,which was officially inaugurated on November 6, 2012, which takes into account the index and mechanical properties obtained from laboratory test results and from rockfill test embankments using the materials with which the dam was built.A description is made of the procedure applied to achieve the compaction parameters determined from the rockfill test embankments and the behavior of the dam is analyzed during the construction stage and first filling of the reservoir taking as a basis the results obtained from the analyses carried out and comparing them with field measurements made with the instrumentation installed at the embankment dam.
