Analysis on Equity of Public Environmental Service Provision and Regional Disparity in China

　　Accelerated by rapid economic growth and urbanization, demands of public service on education, medical care, social welfare and environment protection are significantly fast growing in current China.On the other hand, the disparity of quantity and quality is widening between urban-rural areas and regions.Consequently, equity of public service provision emerged as main public policy challenge in current period.This paper aims to evaluate current condition of equity of public environmental service through quantitative analysis, illustrate regional disparities of public environmental service provision.Based on data analysis on provincial level, this paper finds that significant disparity between eastern, central and western areas of public environmental service existing in service delivery process of investment, resources, supply and outcome.The inequality of investment and resources is particularly dominant.
