Can Citizen Participation in Public Service Provision Process Ensure Enhancement of Public Satisfaction?--An Analysis of Samples from Several Residential Communities in Beijing,China
As one of the key approaches to promote social management innovations, citizen participation in the community public service provision has become one of the major tendencies in recent innovations and development of Chinese community public service model. The existing literature has provided theoretical arguments in support of the positive influence of citizen participation on the enhancement of public satisfaction with public service. However the questions still remain whether citizen participation definitely enhances public satisfaction with community public service, and whether there exists any intermediate variables between citizen participation and public satisfaction.Samples gathered from a questionnaire survey of several residential communities in Beijing have been examined and it turns out that citizen participation does not necessarily enhances public satisfaction with community public service.
