The Function of Government Micro-blog for Guiding Public Opinion in Emergencies:A Case Study of Yaan Earthquake on April 20
After Yaan earthquake, the micro-blog becomes the platform for the widely spreading information released by government institutions, enterprises, media, micro-blog celebrity and the grassroots netizens.A variety of government micro-blogs have been recognized as the barometer of the public feelings due to the important role they play in many aspects, such as earthquake situation updates, emergency relief, information disclosure of the earthquake-stricken area, as well as guiding rational rescue and curbing rumors.This paper has analyzed the function of government micro-blog in the process of the occurrence and development of emergencies.Based on this, this paper has discussed the defects of government micro-blog as well as countermeasures for public opinion guidance in emergencies.
