A Study of the Competitive and Cooperative Relationships between the Government and the Non-governmental Organization Based on the Game Theory
As two major social actors, the Non-governmental Organization and the Government are interactive, and therefore form certain social relationships.So the relationships between NGO (Non-governmental Organization) and the Government have become many scholars research focus.In China, the relationships between NGO and the Government have their own unique natures, which differ from the types of relationship explored by the western scholars.In this paper, the author tries to interpret the relationships between NGO and the Government based on the Game Theory.The author holds the view that there exist four relationships between NGO and the Government: The Government serves as NGOs cooperator; the Government does its duties but NGO does not cooperate; the Government does not do its duties but NGO cooperates, and neither of NGO and the Government cooperate.After analyzing the plight of the interaction and cooperation between the Government and NGO, the author in this paper puts forward the applicable path to promote the Governments cooperation with NGO, so that both of them can coordinate with each other to accelerate the pace of building a harmonious society.
