Research on Chinese Local Government to Deal with Mass Incidents-A Case Study ofWuKan Incident
The mass incident is the main form of social conflict now in China, and it is also a true reflection of the state of social disharmony.In recent years, outbreaks of mass incidents are rising in China, with a result of impacting on social stability and development, which has become a prominent issue.Whats more, the popularity of micro-blogging, web forums and other web2.0 media also make many local incidents quickly evolved into sensational mass incidents.As we all know, the local government is the first line of defense to prevent and deal with mass incidents, and the capacity of its governance is closely related to the activation, development, intensification of mass incidents.This paper is based on Wukan incident and by analyzing it to workout the countermeasures of the local government, and tries to provide a theoretical support for the prevention and control of mass incidents in terms of government responding management.
