Study on the Shared Mental Model of Academic Teams

　　As a teams shared mental modeI(SMM) may help explain team creative processes and outcomes, this study attempts to find an effective way to analyze the relationship between an academic teams SMM and its innovative capacity development in hopes to provide insights into how to construct an innovative academic team.An academic teams SMM is constructed.Critical attributes for the model were selected based on a literature review of previous research.A survey was conducted to test our hypothesized model to measure the correlation between a teams shared mental model and its knowledge innovation capacity.The survey results show that our model proves effective.Both the sharedness of team member knowledge and sharedness of team vision contribute to the teams innovative capability development.Between them, the latter plays a more important role in improving the teams innovative capability.
