The Evolution of the Research Topics of Chinese Library and Information Science Research Institutions

　　In the past decades, science and knowledge have been developing rapidly.More and more disciplines and research fields derived therefrom.This paper alms to reveal the evolution pattern of the research topics of forty-seven Library and Information Science (LIS) research institutions in China between 1998 and 2012, using the visualization method of TreeMap.The time span was divided into three five-year intervals.In each interval, the research institutions and their research foci were visually analyzed.The research findings can help understand the developing trend of the LIS discipline and the research advantages and disadvantages of the Chinese LIS research institutions.
