Proposing a Framework for the Analysis of Qualitative Research Data
The big data movement has reinforced and intensified the needs in capturing, storing, curating, and analysing research data, particularly the quantitative and statistics forms of data.On the other hand, qualitative data is generally viewed and criticised as too soft and lack of rigorous assessment and analysis techniques, and thus usually less valued in the current trends of library and information science (LIS) research.Nevertheless, the negligence of the value of qualitative data does not comply with the requirements of social science development, since such data is indispensable to theory development and extension studies.This paper presents and discusses an analysis approach for qualitative case-study report as a specific type of research data.This paper aims to draw attentions on the theoretical and practical values of qualitative research data.Also, it is expected that by establishing a robust analysis framework, qualitative research data can be wider used by LIS scholars.
