Research in the effectiveness of silicone emulsion surface treatment materials in the durability of concrete
This study intends to assess the durability of concrete with sili cone water emulsion material and concrete surface treatment.Concrete specimens are used to assess the durability related to silicone materials via a carbonation test and chloride resistance test.In addition, studies are also conducted to evaluate the impermeability properties of concrete when coa ted with this coating.The results indicated that the waterproofing proper ty, chloride ion resistance and carbon expose resistance of concrete with si lane coating was greatly improved.It is noteworthy noted that the concrete with silane coating exhibited excellent durability performance when com pared to the acrylic coating used in this study.Scanning Electron Micros copy (SEM) method was employed to investigate the interface.The results showed that the silane coating adheres on substrate surface firmly, resul ting in the durability improvement of the concrete.
