Influence of fly ash on the rehydration of different dehydrated cementitious materials
The hydration and the strength evolution of new cementitious binders produced by the activation of two different aluminosilicate dehydra ted phases (ADP) with fly ash (FA) have been investigated. The ADP in cluding dehydrated cement paste (DCP) and dehydrated aerated concrete (DAC).New cementitious materials were prepared by proportioning fly ash and DAC or DCP, named as DF or AF, respectively. The main differ ences between the two mixtures are found to be the heat of hydration, the non-evaporable water content, the compressive strength development and the microstructure evolution.Experimental results showed that the chemi cal composition of the ADP had a large influence on the amount of the hy drates formed. The microstructure of rehydrated DCP-FA system is denser than that of rehydrated DAC-FA system.Compared to DAC, DCP is more effective to cause further pozzolanic activity with fly ash especially in the later age of hydration.
