Research about Improving PTG based on Information Technology
Various causes such as administrative, political, socio-cultural, economic, mass media and so on make public trust in governments (PTG) continue to diminish.Focusing on the administrative dimension, this paper selected administrative factors including public perception of administrative.corruption, wastefulness, ineffectiveness, and policy alienation to explore the declining of PTG.We argue that information technology can enhance transparency, cost efficiency, effectiveness, and policy participation, so offer potentially useful tools to help governments improve PTG.We illustrated by four selected mini cases that is open system, e-procurement, e-filing, and online policy forum.Despite a generalizability problem, this study offers a cautious but positive view on the potential contribution of information technology in improving PTG.
