A Requirement-oriented Survey of Functional Performance of Patient Apparel Design

　　A clear understanding of tiie patients actual requirements constitutes tiie design of patient apparel.In this study,focus group interviews were conducted among 120 patients from Tiantan Hospital,Chaoyang Hospital and Youan hospital in Beijing.The survey data and analysis results showed that patients were not satisfied witii the existing garment,especially on material,function,style and pattern.Results revealed that patients had preferences to the design sectors both in overall and detailed components,which highlighted the functional performance of garment design.The results in this study will facilitate hospital policy-makers in assessing tiie new design of clotiies so as to enhance the quality of nursing care provided to patients.
