Expression and Functional Evaluation of Recombinant Bmlebocin3
Antimicrobial peptides have attracted scientists attention with regard to tiieir properties of rapid reaction to invading patiiogens and the relatively low chance of developing resistant bacteria due to the distinct mechanisms.A lebocin-like antimicrobial peptide lebocin3 from Bombyx.mori was expressed in prokaryotic expression system using recombinant metiiods in a precursor form.The antibacterial activity of Bmlebocin3 precursor was evaluated against two bacteria strains using broth micro-dilution assay.The results showed that Bmlebocin3 precursor significantly depressed the growth of Escherichia.coli and Staphylococcus.aureus.
