Application of Supercritical Fluid Technique in Preparation of Active Protein Microparticles
Considerable attention in tiie field of microparticle formation has focused on supercritical fluid techniques in the past decade.According to different properties of various proteins, many modified SCF techniques to prepare protein microparticles have been developed recently. The most attractive methods summarized in tiiis article are gas-as sis ted melting atomization (GAMA),CO2-assisted nebulization with a bubble dryer (CAN-BD),supercritical fluid-assisted atomization with a hydro dynamic cavitation mixer (SAA-HCM),and supercritical CO2-based coating metiiod. These methods do not involve tiie addition of toxic organic solvents. The principles and fundamentals of tiiese promising techniques are also discussed.
