Features of Fabric Colors Dyed Using Plant Dyes
In this paper,cotton,silk,ramie and cashmere fabrics were dyed by more than 30 kinds of plant dyestuffs.Then tiie colors dyed by plant dyes with metal salt mordants were measured and analyzed.According to the results,we try to explore the possibility of a complete and comprehensive color circle,which will be helpful to accelerate tiie industrialization step of plant dyes.By testing,a relatively complete color circle has been obtained,which comes from natural plant dyes.From tiie results,we drew the conclusion that tiie dyed material has a little influence on tiie hue of color,since it cannot change colors.Mordant plays an important role in getting abundant hue from plant dyes.The experimental results show that the colors of yellow,brown and red are easily obtained.Especially,tiie colors of yellowy tint are abundant in different lightness and saturation and can be dyed witii a lot of dyes.However,some cold colors,for example,blue,green and black are difficult to be gained.
