Research on the Effect of Alkali Treatment on the Properties of Polyester/Cotton Fabric

　　Polyester/cotton fabric was treated under various alkali conditions and tiie influence of sodium hydroxide concentration,temperature,and treating time were tested on the properties of tiie polyester/cotton fabric.The results showed tiiat sodium hydroxide concentration had tiie most serious influence on the weight loss of the fabric.Witii the increase of weight loss,the breaking slrengtii of the fabric decreases,but the air permeability and the capillarity height of the fabric increase.The weight loss of the fabric is related to tiie treating conditions and fabric components.Alkali content has little effect on weight loss of pure cotton fabric.The weight loss of pure polyester fabric is higher than that of polyester/cotton fabric under the same alkali treating condition.
