Heat and Moisture Comfort Performance of Flame Retardant Fabrics
The aim of tiiis study was to evaluate tiie heat and moisture comfort performance of flame retardant fabrics in normal temperature conditions (20 °C).Thirteen popular flame retardant fabrics were selected for the test of moisture transport properties and dynamic moisture transmission properties.The results showed that hygroscopicity and air permeability of natural flame retardant fabrics were better than retardant-finished fabrics;areal density,fabric finishing,hygroscopicity and thickness were the principal components of the fabric performance in heat and moisture comfort;tiie dynamic moisture transmission property of natural flame retardant fabrics was better than flame retardant-finished fabrics.This study concluded that tiie comfort performance of natural flame retardant fabrics was better tiian flame retardant-finished fabrics from common tests and dynamic moisture transmission test.
