Exploring Functional Design Optimization for Firefighters’Uniform

摘要：

　　Uniform design was metiiodically examined in this study based on distinctive functional requirements of firefighters in terms of tiiermal insulation,comfort and mobility.Aesthetics was also considered in tiie design project.This study aims to assist in reducing tiiermal stress and increasing the perception of dry and breatiiable comfort as well as free movement.The above mentioned considerations would allow firefighters to perform their tasks witiiout interference and reduce risk levels.The performance of the uniform prototypes was evaluated through wear trial;tiie prototypes were also compared witii existing uniforms.The results of tiiis study can be utilized for further design optimization to develop functional firefighter uniforms.
