A New-Method to Characterize Dynamic Heat Conductivity Properties of Fabric under Various Pressure Conditions

  Objective measurement methods are widely used for the evaluation of fabric compression and thermal property.These properties are evaluatedseparately by different instruments.Butstudies and attempts in dynamic tiiermal testing in fabric compression process arestill not realized.This paper conducts a study using objective testing apparatus (Fabric Touch Tester) to measure fabric dynamic thermal properties during compression process.The whole evaluation process can be completed in 3 minutes.Software was designed with friendly user interface toimprove the efficiency of test.The repeatability and reproducibility of test resultsshowed tiiat more than 90% of the testing results were affected by the sample properties,whereas less than 10% errors caused by tiie instrument and operators.Results arising from this article suggested that future measurement methods couldidentify tiie mechanisms of thermal sensation perceptions more clearly.
