A Novel Sweating Cylinder for Dynamic Thermal-wet Comfort Measurements of Fabrics

  In this paper,a simulated microclimate testing instrument,sweating cylinder,was developed for measuring tiie dynamic heat and moisture transmitting properties of clothing materials.In tiie condition of simulated human body sweating,tiie instrument can be used to measure tiie dynamic changing curves of humidity and temperature in simulated microclimate.At the same time,five characteristic indexes,K^, Tequ,AT,KTe and RHeqil were introduced to evaluate the thermal-wet comfort properties of fabrics.According to the temperature and humidity curves of four typical fabrics measured,it was proved tiiat the testing results of tiie instrument could effectively distinguish the heat and moisture transmitting properties of different fabrics.
