Challenges mad Opportunities for Creation of Green Fibres and Textiles for Our Future

　　Green fibres and textiles are products that appeal to environmental sensibilities,particularly with younger consumers.Creating textile materials tiiat can claim tiiis label and stand up under scrutiny is a challenge that must be met if the green label is to have credibility.The development of the green chemistry movement has its roots in the U.S.in the 1960s,but its more precise definitions can be (raced to tiie 1990s with tiie EPAs definitions of green manufacturing.Today,a number of standards and specifications relate to green fibres and textiles,witii opportunities for scientists and manufacturers to be part of the larger worldwide effort to use resources more wisely.
