Research on the performance of boron particles with HTPB
Boron powder was coated with hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) through chemical and physical methods.Boron particles coated with HTPB was characterized by using FT-IR and SEM.The results showed that the coating effect was improved through preprocessing boron powder with coupling agent.The boron powder surface possessed an obvious coated layer which was smooth.The coating effect of boron powder by chemical method was better than the latter.The conditions of chemical coating boron with HTPB were as follows: benzene used as solvent, esterifieation time of HTPB was about 12 hours at 80℃, and then solidification treatment was performed by using diisopentyl phthalate as a solidification agent at 70-80℃.
