Research on mechanism and capabilities of HNS coated with polymer

  HNS was coated with polymer bonding agent and the effects of the processing parameters, including bonding agent mass, solvent mass, stirring speed and distil solvent time on the coating effect were studied by means of solvent emersion method in the L9(34) orthogonal experiment.The coated HNS was characterized by scanning electron mieroscope(SEM), rest angle analysis, constitute analysis, differential scanning caiorimetry(DSC) and blast energy analysis.The optimum conditions are as follows: 10 g HNS, 0.3 g bonding agent, stirring speed 1000 r·min-1, 40 ml solvent, and distil solvent time 15 min.It is found that surface of the coated HNS is coverd by a layer of bonding agent.Rest angle is minished5.9°.Thermal decomposition peak temperature is enhanced 4.7℃.Blast energy is redusedl0 J/g.The result is that the flowability of coated HNS is improved, heat invariability is increased, and blast energy has little changes.
